As summer approaches, sports fans celebrate the return of college football.
In the midst of the ongoing laundry list of debates surrounding the sport’s landscape, US State Secretary Marco Rubio seems to have a solution to at least one of the questions in mind. While Rubio may not seek to end discussions about the name, image and equality (zero), the transfer portal or the playoff format, he wants to tackle some planning conflicts.
Rubio urged ghostly to President Donald Trump to take steps to ban weddings from taking place in the fall of the same day as football is being played. Rubio described weddings in conflict with game plans “A Scurege” on football.

During a recent meeting in the White House, Rubio turned from political discussions about expressing his complaints with those who choose to hold weddings on Saturdays that have a full football slate.

“This thing about people marring on Saturdays in college football season is a scourge, Mr. President,” Rubio said. “It shares families. I don’t know if we can have an executive order about this. There are seven other months of the year that people can marry. So I just wanted to say that.”

Rubio has been married to his wife, Jeanette Dousdebes, since 1998. Before he was appointed his position at the US Department of State, Rubio was a member of the US Senate.
