Mario Kart World has now been revealed after being showcased during the recent Nintendo Switch 2 revelation event. From what we have seen so far, the new Mario Kart seems to be pushing the franchise out, with a new art style and trouble -free racing between tracks across a large card.
Of course, we have known a new Mario Kart game for a while when it was teased during the initial Nintendo Switch 2 event back in January. This reveal is undoubtedly music for your ears, considering how long it has been since we got a whole new Mario Kart game on consoles.

After the reveal, Mario Kart World is easy one of the most expected upcoming upcoming games for 2025. Hopefully it will end on our list of the best Nintendo Switch games at the end of the year. Who knows, maybe it will even be lowered its predecessor after many, many years at the top of sales charts? Rather big shoes to fill actually.

Mario Kart World Gameplay
Mario Kart World Gameplay was shown during the Nintendo Switch 2 revelation event, which was sent on April 2, 2025. In that we see that all the tracks in the game lead into each other in a large interconnected world map. This allows players to run between numbers under the Grand Prix. In addition, you can drive anywhere on a track, even outside the guidelines.
From what we’ve seen so far, Mario Kart World Have a lot of new mechanics. The first is the ability to grind, which is shown in The Reveal Trailer. Players can apparently drive into larger vehicles and also take over them. There are also new things to play with, like a burger seen in the aforementioned trailer. There is also wall driving and an extended flight mechanic.
Running can now contain 24 players who are the largest in the series so far. We will have to see how this works in action, but given the greater extent of the game world, we think it will be just the right mix of chaos and fun.
