The latest patch -notes to Mario Kart World Arrived June 17, 2025. You can read the full list of changes below:
Fixed a problem where objects were no longer able to be used.
Fixed a problem where the controls were sometimes inoperable when choosing a character and trying to start free roam from the card “Free Roam”.
Fixed a problem where the game sometimes shut down when you saw replay after a race.
Directed a problem where the game was sometimes shut down after a race in “Online Play.”
Fixed a problem where speed fluctuations were sometimes shown incorrectly in the “Knockout Tour” and “Online Play.”
Determined a problem where it was easy for a communication error to arise when trying to join friends who play “vs race” or “battle” in “online play.”
Fixed a problem where you sometimes slid through the wall before the finish line “DK Spaceport.”
Fixed a problem where you sometimes couldn’t return to correct position after falling off the track between “Air Ship Fortress” and “Bowsers Castle” as you slipped.

Below you will find the previous patch notes added to Mario Kart World As part of an update on June 4, 2025. It focused on pushing online play live, adding cameraplay and other features ahead of launch the day after.
Enabled cameraplay.
A compatible USB camera (sold separately) is required for cameraplay.
Players can turn on or off the camera in multiplayer and online game modes.
Once the camera is turned on, the player’s face appears during the race.

From the titling screen If you press L -Stick and hold both the L button and the R button, wireless playback will change to LAN playback.
Activated players to upload and download ghost data in time trials.
Enabled viewing of icons of players near free roam.
Increased number of characters you can choose from the start.
Improved operability when 3 or more players play in multiplayer.
Eliminated time limit to choose courses when playing wireless games or LAN games.
