Marvel announced first Blade In 2019 starring in Mahershala Ali. However, the film has not yet entered the production phase.
Kevin Feige, head of the franchise, explained the delay in a recent interaction with a journalist, “We had spent 12 years working on Infinity Saga. It will never happen to us. We always had more characters that people asked about than we could possibly make because we wouldn’t make a movie a month – it’s crazy.”
Then the study’s head pointed to an earlier strategy where the franchise produces more content when Disney+ was launched. “Suddenly there is a mandate to do more and we go,” well, we have more “… but maybe that’s what we fell in,” he added.
Kevin continued, “We would not just just put a leather anguish on him and cause him to start killing vampires. It had to be unique. It fell at the time we began to retire and say, ‘Only accepting insanely big.’ And it wasn’t ‘crazy good’ at the time.
He added, “We don’t feel like, as we often do, you can have a good screenplay and make it a good screenplay through production. We didn’t feel sure we could do it on ‘magazines’ and we wouldn’t make it to Mahershala and wouldn’t do it to us.”
Besides Blade Was scheduled to start filming in 2022, but it underwent several creative changes as several directors left the project without any filmmakers currently linked to the project.
