San Diego Padre’s Star Reliever Mason Miller made MLB postal season history on Wednesday night in an attempt to keep his team’s season alive.
Padres needed a win in Game 2 in their Wild Card series against Chicago Cubs after losing Game 1 Tuesday afternoon in Windy City, and they lean on the star-studded Bullpen to get the job done.
Miller was among them when he beat almost two laps, but it was his ninth pitch of the night that rewrite the MLB recordbooks. The flame-throwing right threw a 104.5 mph fastball to knock out Cubs Catcher Carson Kelly.

This pitch was not only the fastest Miller has thrown in his career, but it is also the fastest pitch of the post -season since the pitching rail in 2008, according to MLB.com’s Sarah along.
It was an incredible excursion by Miller who beat all five of the blows he was facing over 1.2 laps of the work. In total, he has seen seven fighters in this Wild Card series and he has put them all down at Strikeout.

San Diego’s violation saw a shock thanks to the veteran third Baseman Manny Machado, who belted a two-run Homer at the top of the fifth lap to pull ahead after a race was scored by Padres in the first place.
Padres’ pitching staff held the kids to only four scattered hits in this game as Dylan Cease went 3.2 laps, allowing three hits and knocking out five over his 69-pitch outing.

More of the same should be expected in a do-or-die game, although the ball first goes to the veteran Yu Darish. Cubs will turn to Jameson Taillon to start Game 3.
