Masterchef Pakistan returns after an 11-year hiatus

Masterchef Pakistan has made a comeback after an eleven-year hiatus. The new season of the show promises to be bigger and better, with a revamped format and high production quality that matches global standards.

The show has a new judging panel that includes chef maestro Saadat Siddiqi, baking expert Mahwish Aziz and ingredient specialist and chef Asad Monga. The culinary competitions will “bring together the country’s best home cooks in a battle of skill, heart and taste,” according to their official Instagram. Adding that it’s more than a competition, “It’s passion under pressure.”

MasterChef Pakistan aims to showcase culinary talent and celebrate Pakistani cuisine, giving aspiring chefs a platform to gain recognition and guidance. With its return, the show will revive the passion for cooking among the viewers. Fans can look forward to high-pressure challenges, fresh stories and creative dishes in the upcoming season.

Registrations and auditions for the show were held in mid-2025 across major cities such as Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, garnering significant responses from aspiring chefs across the country.

The first season aired on 3 May 2014 on Urdu 1, with 100 contestants from major cities like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The show was produced by Paragon Productions and was based on the international MasterChef format. The original judges included Chef Zakir Qureshi, Chef Mehboob Khan and Chef Khurram Awan who guided the contestants through various cooking challenges. It ended on 27 July 2014, with Ammara Noman winning the title and a cash prize.

The new season is produced by Pixel Entertainment. It is powered by Knorr, Vim Pakistan and Nestle Everyday. The show is co-sponsored by Walls, Kashmir madolie and Laziza and presented by Sabroso. Its official pantry partner is Imtiaz and official appliance partner is Dawlance.

The culinary competition program is shown on HUM TV every Friday and can be streamed online on YouTube.
