Islamabad:
Mastermind behind a bold passenger train that hijacks in Balochistan has been killed under mysterious circumstances in Afghanistan, which strengthens Pakistan’s claims that terrorist groups of various nuances have formed a nexus across the border where they maintain safe gardens.
Yellow Rahman, alias Ustad Mureed, affiliated with Majeed Brigade, the suicide group in the forbidden Balochistan Liberation Army (Bla), had orchestrated the hijacking of Jaffar Express, who traveled from Quetta to Peshawar the 11.
Bla and other Baloch terrorist groups have been labeled “Fitna al-Hindustan” by Pakistani officials to highlight India’s support for these proxies aimed at destabilizing Balochistan.
Yellow was reportedly a coach and an operational commander of Majeed Brigade, which the United States has also appointed as a foreign terrorist organization. He was involved in attacks aimed at Pakistani security forces, Chinese citizens, civilian and state institutions.
Majeed Brigade has assumed responsibility for attacks on Jaffar Express, the Chinese Consulate in Karachi and Pearl Continental Hotel in Gwadar. It was also behind Khuzdar School Bus bombing, Karachi Confucius Institute Suicide Blast, Pakistan Stock Exchange attack and bombing of Railway Station in Quetta.
Pakistan and China have called on the United Nations to place the group on its terrorism watch list. “The killing of this terrorist is further proof that Afghan Earth is still being used to launch terrorism against Pakistan,” an official source said.
The Jaffar Express train, which carries at least 380 passengers, was hijacked on March 11. The attackers detonated explosives in tunnels and on the tracks before opening fire, which led the train to stop in a mountainous area of the SIBI district, Balochistan, which was difficult for security forces to access.
From March 11 to 12, the Pakistani Army Operation Launched Green Bolan to save the train. The operation released 354 hostages and killed 33, among other things, terrorists.
