We are at the Augusta National Golf Club for quite a week when the third round of Masters had fireworks on Saturday afternoon, thanks to two stars fighting for the green jacket.
Rory McIlroy and Bryson Dechambeau began the day at 6-Under and 7-Under respectively, but these numbers quickly changed thanks to some amazing shots to begin their rounds.
McIlroy had come to a birdie start with a perfect first hole. But a higher roar came when DeChambeau, in a group with Saturday’s leader Justin Rose, went out right behind him.

DeChambeau’s approach shot hit the green, but it landed on his back with a long birdie padt in front. With a downhill break, Defechambeau probably tried to get it close to a light pair to start the round, but the line was too perfect, just like his speed.
The Dechambeau and the group of patrons around the first green looked at as his ball stumbled down the slope and found the bottom of the cup to tie him with rose at 8-under. Dechambeau relaxed a small fist pump, though he remained stoically in his behavior, knowing that 17 holes were ahead.
But McIlroy’s second hole sent patrons into a madness as he took the lead thanks to some soft hands around the other green.

An absolute monster driver wore the real fairway hole 2, which was about 330 meters out on par-5 585 yards. McIlroy sat up for a potential eagle, but his approach went a little too deep, which required a chip for his third shot.
It was a good look to get the ball close to a tap-in birdie to make his start even better, but he saw the line and performed the chip perfectly.

The ball jumped twice before controlling and working his way towards the hole, and it was the perfect line as it sank for a three and a quick 3-under turn to start his third round.
The audience got lost when McIlroy took the only lead, which he continued even more with a birdie of No. 3.
It’s “Moving Day” at Augusta, with players trying their hardest to enable themselves to hopefully catch the victory in this year’s first major. McIlroy and Defechambeau, winners of former Majors, have not yet collected their own green jackets, and they are currently playing as potential masters.
