Masters News: Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau paired for last round

The 89th edition of The Masters is for a Thriller Sunday.

Rory McIlroy and Bryson Dechambeau are in the last mating, and Golffans will remember how these two are connected after the 2024 US Open.

Dechambeau won the US Open at Pinehurst # 2, while McIlroy had an epic degradation with the putter late in the round to throw away his potential title.

This time, McIlroy posted another 6-Under round at Augusta National Saturday after waving on the leaderboard on Friday.

McIlroy put his disappointing first round as he ended up on even pairs after two double bogeys on the second nine, in the rearview mirror after sending a 66 in his second round. Then he started off a hot start, went Birdie, Eagle, Birdie to quickly take the lead.

It was a lead he did not give up even after wandering on holes eight and 10, which put a bogey on scorecard to move back to 9-under.

However, McIlroy got these shots back with a birdie of No. 13 and No. 15, which destroyed his first round after he hit a chip in the water. He buried another eagle to get him to 12 under.

So McIlroy, who needs a green jacket to perform a career grand slam after winning any other major on the PGA Tour, has a chance to finally get it, while winning the evasive fifth major in his career.

Dechambeau will be paired with McIlroy and searches for his own first Masters victory. Dechambeau ended his third round in style with a long, twisted Birdie-Putt on the 18th hole to finish with a 69 on the day and 10-Under for the tournament.

He recorded three birdies in his last four holes, and the Liv golf star relaxed a roar with fans around the 18th green.

Tighten up, people because Sunday at Augusta will definitely have some fireworks that we saw Saturday.

Former Master Waves; Rose begins to wither

While all eyes are on McIlroy and Dechambeau after the third round on Saturday, Zach Johnson, 2007 Masters -Master, flew up the leaderboard after sending a 66 before the two golfers even turned off.

Johnson is now tied to 10. On the way to Sunday at. 4 during the tournament.

Rose, Masters’ Leader After the first two rounds, was paired with Defechambeau on Saturday hoping to stick to this lead on the way into the final round.

But it was a match from Get-Go. Rose had to crawl to save pairs, and it eventually got up to him. He released five bogeys and two birdies to finish 3-over on the day.

Rose is now tied to the sixth at 5-Under, and he will have to look more like he was doing Thursday when he sent a 65 in the opening round to get a chance to walk through Butler Cabin for a green jacket mounting.
