Matli:
Matli city of Badin as many rural areas and suburbs in the province is in a grip of drug warehouses. Society loses its young people to methamphetamine icing, heroine and locally brewed spirits.
Abdul Rehman Halepota, a prominent social figure, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and municipal council leader for Matli, has announced a comprehensive campaign to limit the rising sales and use of Matli Methamphetamine (commonly known as IS) and other drugs in both cities and rural areas of Matli.
When he spoke at a press conference, Halepota said that the uncontrolled spread of drugs, especially Crystal Meth, has not only seized the current generation but also poses a serious threat to the future of youth. He emphasized that immediate and practical steps were needed to save society from further damage.
The PPP leader stated that he is enjoying full support from elected representatives of the constituency of this mission. He revealed that there were only three days earlier, an advisory meeting had been held with school administrations and the local police to devise a coordinated strategy against drug troliferation.
Halepota announced that the campaign will formally be launched at a boys high school in Matli through a consciousness seminar about the dangers of drugs. “We will take this drift down to the ward and Union Council departments, which engages the local government representatives, the oldest of the local community and related to institutions,” he said.
He emphasized that statistical data highlights the devastating effect of drugs, especially Krystalmeth, who have demanded life and destroyed families. The upcoming campaign will aim to create awareness and mobilize public opinion against drug abuse.
