Matthew Staffford’s wife Kelly responds to NFL Star’s Reunion with Rams

Matthew Stafford remains in a Los Angeles Rams uniform. The two-time Pro Bowler and Rams reached an agreement on a restructured contract earlier this week.

Stafford broke a contract extension with Rams in 2022, shortly after he led the franchise to the Super Bowl LVI title. Star Quarterback had two seasons left on this deal, but he guaranteed that money ran out after the 2025 season.

The adjusted deal comes shortly after Rams gave Staffford’s agent the green light to have discussions with other teams when Quarterback explored the market. Staffford’s wife, Kelly, went to social media on Saturday to respond to the news that her husband was staying in Los Angeles.

“No place like home. @Rams,” she wrote an Instagram photo of Rams Quarterback.

Earlier this month, Kelly turned to speculation about her husband’s future in Los Angeles.

“I love the city la … and I love the life we’ve built here,” Kelly said during an episode of “The Morning After” podcast. “That said, I love an adventure. I’m all for that. Right now, if Rams decided they would swap him or Matthew decided he wouldn’t play for Rams, I’m good. Move my family, yes, it can be hard-first month hard-after, it shows me that I like my kids to be resistant. It’s difficult. ”

Matthew and Kelly have been married since 2015 and share four daughters.

Before reworking his agreement with Rams, New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders are assumed to have participated in conversations about the parameters of a potential deal, ESPN reported.

RAMS coach Sean McVay recently suggested that preservation of Stafford be the team’s highest priority. However, McVay also noted that the franchise would have to weigh the implications of the guardians, as an adjusted contract could present this upcoming season and beyond.

“There is no dispute – and let’s not get it twisted with regard to someone who wants him to be our quarterback,” McVay said during a performance at the “Fitz & Whit” podcast. “Now there are layers for it. You have to be able to say, ‘Hello, how do we build continuously? How do we support him? How do we make sure he gets it, his value in relation to these things?'”

Stafford was the top election in 2009 NFL Draft. He spent the first 12 seasons of Detroit Lions before being traded to Rams in 2021. He ended the 2024 season with 3,762 passing yards.
