Mawra Hocane is about female empowerment. The actor recently talked about the importance of young girls having financial autonomy in an Instagram video. “I was taught at a very young age that for girls, financial independence is very important,” she said.
“You don’t understand that in your childhood,” she said, reflecting on her upbringing. “Urwa and I were school when Mama pressed us to do theater. It helped us to build a work ethic. It gets ingrained in you from a young age to make yourself useful, to work hard.”
The Sanam Teri Kasam Lead is okay with sacrificing a little. “You can lose a little less sleep, and that’s okay, hardship is important,” she said. “So I think this is the effect of our parents on us.”
Mawra had an important message for girls looking up to her. “To all girls who see, I would say that there is nothing better than financial independence,” she said.
The newlywed star also believes that a supportive family can help do it on their own is crucial. “No matter how good your family is. How rich your family is. Or your in -laws or your husband. I think the money you earn with your hard work gives you a different kind of confidence.”
The actor’s reflection on in-laws comes from experience as she even tied the knot with Co-Star Ameer Gilani back in February. In photos shared on Instagram, the two stood together, decorated in their wedding drop. “And in the middle of chaos I found you,” she wrote. Adding a short prayer she punctured caption with the hashtag #mawraamerhogayi.
The two also have contributors to projects together, including drama series Sabaat and Neem.
Mawra is an entrepreneur himself and started a brand name with sister, Urwa in 2022. They made a word game with their brand name with the motivational hashtag #whocan derived from their last name. The venture translated their sisterhood into something tangible and consisted of casual western wear, festive traditional wear and elegant accessories.
