- Max gets its own AI-Assisted website Redesign
- Streamer’s Landing Page Update starts rolling out in the US this week
- Its revision comes in the middle of Netflix’s latest layout that is slammed by users
Listen up, Max users because it is the latest streaming service that receives a greater revision of its website.
Just weeks after Netflix revealed its own user interface (UI) Redesign, as raging-filled Netflix subscribers have described as “terrible”-is one of its greatest rivals to get a landing page update as well. But don’t worry, max fans, it won’t be as frustrating to use as Netflix’s latest redesign is.
In a Warner Bros. Discovery press message confirmed Max’s parent company that an “improved browsing experience” would start rolling out in the US this week (June 16 to 22). It is unclear when people in other countries where Max is available, such as Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, will receive the update of the website.
What is clear, however, is Max has taken a page out of Netflix -Playbook and actually redesigned its destination page to mirror it of the best streaming service’s old layout. This is what Max’s current website looks like:
And here’s what Max’s redesigned destination page looks like when distributed to its worldwide user base:

As you can see above, Version 2.0 of Max’s UI looks much cleaner than its forbear did. First, the icon bar has moved to the left side of the page. Meanwhile, its film and TV shows are laid in rectangular tile form rather than the vertical aesthetics that the previous website had.
If this format looks well known, it’s because it’s an almost identical design for the Netflix app’s website before its recent inspection. I’m sure those of us who detest Netflix’s new UI will be a bit jealous with MAX 2.0’s layout.
There is also more about this update. When Max users hover over a tile, a similar preview video is automatically played after a few seconds. Per Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) builds it “on success with Max’s previous feature launch, which provided video advance views with audio on the website hero -carousel earlier this year.”
WBD is aware that such a feature can be quite intrusive for users who flip through their library with the best Max movies and best Max shows. To combat this, Entertainment Behemoth will allow customers to switch this feature on or off in the Settings and Play menu. So if you don’t want the automated video to be played while hovering over a particular movie or program, you can turn it off and never have to think about it again.

Perhaps not surprisingly, Max will soon support artificial intelligence (AI) as part of its user experience.
According to WBD, an internal AI-assisted tool will also be launched on the platform in the coming weeks. It will be used to “identify and suggest ‘drop-in moments’, alias recognizable scenes from specific movies and shows. This will be used as part of each production cyclic video overlay, with the AI tool that highlights-to Max-Team-Team-as most lured Viewers will click on a movie or TV series. Homepage for further naps in several users who are after something looking for something new to get something new.
What do you think of Max’s upcoming website Redesign? Will it convince you to cancel your Netflix account and sign up for WBDS Super Streamer instead, which will be renamed HBO Max sometime in the next few months? Tell me that in the comments.
