McMahon warns Maine about consequences for trosing Trump education orders

US Education Medal Education Secretary Linda McMahon dealt with a Pakinomist Digital Report that Maine Education Commissioner undermined President Donald Trump’s executive orders IE emails for schools.

McMahon shared the report in a post on X on Tuesday and referred to the Trump administration’s lawsuit against the state to spite title IX.

“Conscious defense federal law is exactly why [the Department of Education] Found Maine in violation of title IX and why Doj continues his lawsuit against the state. If you ignore federal law, there will be consequences, ”McMahon wrote.

E emails obtained by Pakinomist Digital Show Maine Department of Education Commissions Pender Makin prepared several memos for schools that suggested that schools follow Maine State Law and do not comply with Trump’s January -Overdeing Orders that dealt with public education.

“Last week, we advised schools to comply with Maine Human Rights Act and your local school government policies related to non -discrimination. We encourage you to continue to keep all people in safety and we repeat the fact that one of the moment was not seen in a 28 -e -mail with a January legislation or your local policy.

“Most of the executive orders relate to federal agencies and federal laws for which Maine Doe has no authority.”

Makin replied to Maine Assistant Attorney General Sarah Forster with a draft of a memo for schools. The memo included orders to avoid complying with Trump’s “Final Radical Indoctrination in K-12-School,” executive order, in a 30th January email.

“… This eo does not change nothing for Maine schools,” wrote an e -mail discussing the memo. The notes draft said “Maine schools should continue to follow the laws of our state and the provisions of their local policies.”

Then, in an E -mail 31 January, Makin prepared another memo for superintendents and school leaders relating to the executive order.

“The executive order does not change the obligations for schools under the state law, including Maine Human Rights ACT, and does not require immediate changes in locally adopted school board policies,” the memo reads.

Maine State representative Laurel Libby contacted the report in an interview with “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday morning.

“I’m not surprised at all,” Libby said, adding later, “it’s a waking agenda that most mainers do not agree. They do not agree that biological men should participate in girls’ sporting order. They do not agree that the focus should be on dei and social emotional learning.”

Maine and Governor Janet Mills have been in a sweep with Trump’s administration since February after the state became one of the first to openly defies Trump’s “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” executive order. Defiance resulted in a trans-athlete winning a girls-pole vault competition in February and then a personal verbal spat between Trump and Mills at a February 21st the white house meeting with governors.

The US Department of Justice has launched a lawsuit against Mills and the State of Title IX, which will go to trial in January 2026.

ONE Examination of The coalition of the American parents found that out of approx. 600 registered Maine voters, 63% said school sports participation should be based on biological sex, and 66% agreed that it is “only fair to limit women’s sports to biological women.”

The survey also found that 60% of residents would support a ballot limiting participation in Women and Girls Sport to Biological Women. This included 64% of the independent and 66% of parents with children under the age of 18.
