Megan Thee Stallion found love when she least expected it.
In a new interview with People magazine released on Feb. 13, the Grammy-winning rapper reflected on her relationship with Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson and revealed that she was solely focused on bettering herself first.
“Well, I’ll never tell [anybody] just jumping into a relationship just because everyone else has one, and I’m not going to tell you to just jump into a relationship because you have to. WAP hitmaker said.
Instead of searching for romance, Megan focused on herself. “I think so because I finally started to be in a better frame of mind about myself and my life and I had already done a lot of work to heal myself,” she explained, adding that she was going to therapy and enjoying activities she enjoyed. “Maybe God just opened that space for me to have someone who loved me right,” she noted.
Now the 30-year-old says she feels something new: lightness. “This is one of the first times I’ve ever been overly comfortable,” she added with a giggle. “I’m fine, baby!”
After publicly debuting their romance in July 2025, Megan insists that love shouldn’t be forced. “People need to stop trying to be in love and try to chase love,” she said. “They just have to let it come to them.”
