Meghan Markle has apparently included a subtle message in her daughter Princess Lilibet’s birthday feuding this year.
The Duchess of Sussex celebrated her and Prince Harry’s fourth birthday on June 4th and took their children including Prince Archie to Disneyland for a magical family flight.
On Instagram, Meghan released photos and videos of Lilibet’s pastel blue little mermaid-themed birthday cake, complete with an Ariel toop.
However, Dailymail noted that Meghan’s election cake was referring to her previous comments about comparing herself to Ariel, Disney Princess, who gave up his voice for love.
One year after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their royal roles, the couple sat for an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
Meghan, who was pregnant with Princess Lilibet at the time, talked about how she identified with the character.
The Duchess of Sussex said, “I was sitting in Nottingham Cottage, and the little mermaid came on. And as an adult really sees the little mermaid, but it came on, and I was like, ‘Well, I’m here all the time, I might as well see this.'”
“And I went, ‘Oh my God, she falls in love with the prince, and because of it she loses her voice’, but eventually she gets her voice back,” she added, referring to her alleged treatment in the royal family.
Especially when Oprah asked her, “You feel like you got your voice back” Meghan replied, “Yes.”
