Quetta:
Sardar Akhtar Mengal, head of his fraction of GDP-M, feared Friday at PPP to arrest women in Balochistan and said that even under Portuguese and British colonial management or under combat regimes, women were never taken into custody.
He expressed these views during a public collection held in Gwadar, where a large number of people, including women, children and the elderly, were present.
“We are not here for a political point score, but to raise our vote for the rights that have been denied in Balochistan,” he said as he approached the crowd.
Sardar Mengal said they are not afraid of being arrested as their workers and colleagues have been detained under several authoritarian regimes. “We were arrested whether it was the dictatorship of General Ayub Khan or the era with Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto,” he added.
He complained that PPP has always targeted the Baloch youth, quoting examples such as Lyari War and the military operation in 1973 in Balochistan.
“They are still saying ‘Bhutto Zinda Hai’ – Thank God he is not [alive]Otherwise, no home in Balochistan would have been spared, ”he said.
He claimed that the very foundation of PPP is built on the blood from the Baloch youth.
As he questions the state institutions, he said courts can open at midnight to overthrow a government but cannot listen to complaints from the people of Balochistan.
He added that Parliament may convene a bill, but there is no room to hear the misery of the Baloch people.
“The state’s labels Any voice raised against the atrocities of Balochistan as a terrorist. Today, Mahrang and Bow are tagged terrorists. Tomorrow I will also be called one,” he said.
He said that despite having the latest technology, weapons and nuclear weapons, the state is afraid of Mahrang.
