Metamask confirmed over the weekend in a post of X that it will roll a new onchain reward program in the coming weeks, allocating more than $ 30 million in the Linea tookens for its first season.
The Wallet app described the initiative as “one of the largest onchain rewarding programs ever built”, while it emphasized that it is “not an agricultural game” but a way to “regularly give back” to users.

Yes, a reward program is on the way. 👀
Any of the details you have seen/heard is not a sign of what is actually going to start. Let’s talk a little about what the actual Metamask Rewards program will be.

Rewards will include referral bonus, MUSD policy, exclusive partner reward, token access and other perks, Metamask said.
Long-term users will receive special benefits, with the program explicitly connected to the long-expected Metamask token.
“Also will not be ignored,” the team wrote, hinting at early adoptors.
Linea is Consensys’ internal Ethereum Layer-2 network, launched in September with a 9.4 billion token air drop. Awarding $ 30 million in Linea for Metamask Rewards binds two flagship projects together, effectively using Metamask’s reach to bootstrap activity on the new Rollup.
Metamask’s MUSD StableCOin, issued by Stripe-Own Bro, was also launched last month and now has a circulating supply near $ 88 million.
With rewards that are partly tied to MUSD, the program is designed to create incentives across wallet, stablecoin and LAG-2 infrastructure.
Metamask has not clarified whether certain jurisdictions will be excluded or whether anti-Sybil rules will be enforced, an important detail given the transitions of reward programs being played by farmers.
