Things didn’t go well to the New York Mets on the field on Thursday, but it was almost worse in Mets’ broadcast stall.
Mets were swept in their double head against Baltimore Orioles on Thursday at Camden Yards, and one of the franchise’s retired legends was empty away from joining a few Mets on the wounded list.
At the bottom of the seventh in match two of the double heads, O’s Outfielder Cedric Mullins hit a bad ball right back and against sports network New York (Sny) stand.

Play-by-play advertisement Gary Cohen said the ball “went straight past Keith [Hernandez]Ear, and he never saw it. “
Cohen doesn’t lie.
Hernandez is one of the biggest defensive first base men of the time with 11 gold gloves. Of course, O’s TV team thought he had caught the ball.
But Gam showed a repetition from inside the booth, and while Cohen was ready to potentially catch it, Hernandez’s eyes were nowhere near the ball.

The replay showed that Hernandez looked back and responded only to noise from the ball that hits the wall behind him. And funny arose in the booth.

“We can laugh at it now. But if this ball had been only a few meters to the left, you could have been done in the season. Or maybe forever,” Cohen said.
Mets led 1-0 into the eighth round of the first game, but the bullp could not hold the lead. Baltimore won the second game, 7-3, despite a 2-0 deficit in the first place.

New York is 8-17 in its last 25 games and has ruined a 5½-game lead in NL East. Mets pulled Philadelphia Phillies with 1½ games that entered the game Friday.
