Miami Hurricane’s footballer Adarius Hayes faces several serious charges after a study of a vehicle accident in Florida left three people died.

The linebacker is charged with three counting of vehicle murder and a counting of reckless driving with severe bodily harm. In May, police determined Hayes was the driver of the deadly two-car accident.

In response to the prosecutors, the Miami football team confirmed Hayes “has been suspended indefinitely from all athletic related activities per policy for athletic department.” The athletic department did not give further comments.

Hayes surrendered to police on Friday morning in Largo, Florida, officials said. According to posts, Hayes was booked in prison in Pinella’s County. It was not immediately clear whether he retained a lawyer’s services.
