Once was Michael Fassbender in a race to play the iconic 007 -Spion in Casino Royale.

During the audition, however, the actor argued instead of putting his name for Daniel Craig, who later continued to play the character.

“I’ve met with Barbara Broccoli just passing by, and I actually went into an audition phase before Daniel was role -studded,” he remembered in an interview with the happy sad confused podcast.

But Steve Jobs Star added that he thought his chances of leading the race were low.

“I don’t think I was ever in the mix,” he continued. “But I remember going into that room and a kind of meeting with her and Wilson, and I was like, ‘I think Daniel Craig is …’ I don’t know why I promoted him. I should have promoted myself … I was terrible at auditions.”

Michael, meanwhile, also broke about Daniel. “Obviously Daniel did a fantastic job and went on to, I think, be the most successful bond in the story.”

“It really was. There was never a conversation after that, ”he concluded.
