- Microsoft reveals new Surface Laptop 5G
- Business customers who are targeted with reliable connection on the go
- Three editions are available, with orders open now
Microsoft has revealed a new version of its Surface Laptop designed specifically with business users in mind as it looks for a stronger foothold in the Enterprise Hardware market.
The new Surface Laptop 5G has AI-driven treatment with a 40+ Tops Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) Processors, Daglang Battery Life and an Integrated 5G Modem to keep connected collaborative tools such as Microsoft 365.
There will be three different business portable models available with a flagship 5G enabled version that has a 13.8in screen available from August 26, along with 13in and 12in versions available now.

Microsoft says the releases are coming like adding 5G to Surface Laptop has become “one of the most requested features from our business customers”.
The addition should mean greater support and more reliable connections to video conferencing calls when they are out and around or for workers in the field who need to contact the rest of their team.
To ensure uniform connection, Microsoft says the new Surface Laptop 5G has a “dynamic antenna system” which continuously adapts to its environment using six antennas to automatically adjust signaling and power based on how the device is kept or used.
The company says these antennas are located higher than usual located in other portable devices, which reduces interference and allows for a stronger connection through a recently designed, multilayer laminate for the device.
It can also switch between Wi-Fi and 5G networks depending on location, make sure the user remains connected and can act as a mobile hotspot, no matter where Wi-Fi is not available, with Nanosim and ESIM settings also available.
Microsoft says it tested the devices with over 100 mobile operators in 50 countries together with real world environments, which means it can implement and deliver updates and enforce business policies – no matter where their users are.
This is also helped by Surface Management Portal within the Intune Admin Center, which can provide visibility to the device’s health, adherence and use – and thanks to the backup filot, administrators can use AI -powered tools to act quickly to detect problems, assess risk and answer accurately.
“Surface Laptop 5G represents Microsoft’s end-to-end innovation in action,” Microsoft’s Nancie Gaskill wrote in a blog post announcing the release.
“Hardware, software and cloud services meet to provide intelligent, secure and connected experiences to today’s mobile workforce.
