Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft AI, has announced via X that Chatgpt’s O1 Deep Reasoning is now available to all copiloters, even at the free level, but there are limits to access.
When he wrote on X, Suleyman said “This now gives everyone access to Openai’s world class O1 Reasoning Model in Copilot, everywhere at no cost. I encourage you to try it. It’s really magical. “

Suleyman then continues to describe various possible copilot use cases using the O1 model, such as getting in-depth advice on the management of a career change, detailed educational milestones, or taking an in-depth about any topic you want to know about.
The original reports suggested that access to the O1 Reasoning Model in Copilot was unlimited, but this has proven to be false, with several users coming up against utility limits. In response, Microsoft then raised the utility limit, with the Copilot account on X yesterday, where he announced, “Think deeper limits for free and pro subscribers have been expanded!”

Thinking deeper with copilot
Chatgpt-O1 and Chatgpt-O1 Mini-Reasoning Models were first introduced by Openai last December as part of ’12 Days of Openai ‘and promised to offer improved reasoning and logical abilities. The O1 model breaks down questions and tasks into smaller parts and resolves each before responding.
It is as easy to access Chatgpt-O1 in Copilot as clicking on the new ‘Think deeper’ button in the Prompt beam, which is available in both copilot mobile app and web browser versions. Our first test with the feature shows that it is actually pretty impressive, giving really detailed answers to any question we ask for it, even if you have to wait for a few seconds longer than you would do for a normal copilot request to enable this deeper reasoning power.
To use the O1 and O1-Mini-Reasoning Models in Chatgpt, you currently need a chatgpt plus subscription that costs $ 20 p / month (about £ 16 / AU $ 30). Openai recently confirmed that it is opening its latest O3 Reasoning for free users, with the release expected any day now.
