- Windows -Safety Copy To Organizations Launches with a Unique Twist
- It keeps your Windows settings and a list of your apps
- Disk depiction, file copies and disaster recovery is not included
Microsoft has been busy recently adding new features to Windows for Business Users, but its latest release, Windows Backup for Organization, is a bit of an error number as it doesn’t actually back up your data.
A new company blog announced the general accessibility of Windows Backup for Organization, designed for Windows 10 or 11, Entra joined devices.
However, it is not a complete device copying, so disk deposition, file copies or disaster recovery are not covered by the new tool.
The core functionality of the tool backups Windows settings and stores a list of installed Microsoft Store apps. It also restores settings and apps for the start menu on Windows 11 (22H2 or later).
Writing in the launch post noticed Microsoft Product Manager Miranda Leschke how it can help admins with reset or migration units, and will support a smooth transition between Windows 10 and 11 – Something many organizations have delayed, but an impending task for many with the upcoming October 14, 2025 Windows 10 End of LIFE deadline.
Windows 10 22H2 only works for backups, but Windows 11 22H2+ works with backup and recovery. Microsoft’s decision not to include restoration features on its soon -to -be printed OS is another remarkable push against Windows 11.
Disabled by default, administrators must configure backup and restore policies to Windows security copy to organizations.
From the restoration site using the new tool, the remaining out of the Experience box (OOBE) is the same. Once Oobe is completed, user profiles and preferences are automatically restored.
