Microsoft is experiencing Outlook Web and SharePoint Online Bugs
Despite confirming that the service has returned to normal, the company noted: “We validate and implement a solution to improve performance parameters in the short term while conducting a surveillance period.”
“In parallel, we continue to review telemetry data to determine if additional optimization actions may be required to fully remedy the impact,” Redmond added.
This is not the first time that Microsoft’s online services have experienced disturbances – in fact, it becomes a bit of a trend. In March, Outlook on the web and the new Outlook client experienced a problem with search due to a code error. It was tracked under Ex1035922.
In the same month, a global interruption prevented access to exchange online mailboxes via Outlook on the web, and before it failed Outlook.com search in July 2023, which triggered 401 errors.
Today, however, it is not only search that was broken for Outlook. The shortcut ‘Paste Special’ is currently affecting classic views.
“From the current channel (version 2503 Build 18623.20156) when you use the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+V to insert special, nothing happens,” Microsoft confirmed on a separate support page.
Redmond confirmed that the problem is resolved, but users still have some waiting to make before they can see any improvements. Specifically, the “beginning of May” for the Beta Channel, “The beginning of June” to the current preview of the channel and as late as “the end of July” for the current channel.
Others now dissolved problems Microsoft has participated to include CPU spikes when writing and drag-and-slip broken by the Windows updates in February 2025. All in all a pretty rocky trip.
