- Microsoft is trying to push his AI -Chatbot -Copilot but hits roadblocks
- Copilot fighting against rival chatgpt
- Chatgpt launched much earlier, giving the model a lead
AI Chatbot models such as Chatgpt and Microsoft Copilot win tremendous traction in the workplace and beyond, but Openai’s model is reportedly beginning to show dominance in business.
ONE Bloomberg The report has claimed that even companies that have purchased copilot plans are struggling to convince users to change, with drugs Amgen, who buys a 20,000 user plan, only to get employees to continue using chatgpt over a year later.
It is not the only customer reporting questions, as the workers Shun Microsoft Copilot in favor of Chatgpt, more used at home and thus becomes more known for many.
A lead
Microsoft uses Openai’s models to operate Copilot and offers very similar features like Chatgpt, with information listings, e -mail drafts, data analysis and image generation.
That said, Chatgpt’s momentum and existing user base appear to give the chatbot edge.
As of June 2025, Chatgpt has nearly 800 million weekly active users and 3 million paying business users, while Copilot has stagnated a little, with 20 million weekly users in the past year.
Theoretically, the race should be a little more even as Windows is such a dominant operating system in the professional world. Microsoft sellers have traditionally been able to use Windows compatibility as an effective point of sale, but that is no longer the case, the report suggests;
“The company [Microsoft’s] Sellers knew that chatgpt dominated the consumer chatbot market, but expected Microsoft to own the business area for AI assistants thanks to decades long relationships with company IT departments. But when Microsoft started selling copilot to businesses, many office workers had already tried chatgpt at home, giving Chatbot a first-mover benefit. “
Despite negotiating with companies like Volkswagen, Accenture and Barclays, all of which signed agreements for over 100,000 accounts in agreements worth ‘tens of thousands of millions a year, Microsoft is still behind Openai in its user base, and organizations have to encourage workers to use the chatbot.
The news comes after Microsoft announced large redundancies, with between 6,000 and 7,000 jobs around the world expected to be cut – equivalent to almost 3% of the company’s workforce – just two years after 10,000 employees were redundant (5% of the workforce).
