- Microsoft launches new Windows 365 Disaster Recovery Plus option
- Recovering can be 8x faster than disaster recovery
- Administrators may choose their preferred region for sovereignty
Microsoft has looked at its data recovery options for users with the launch of a new Windows 365 Disaster Recovery Plus (DRP) offer.
The upgraded tool is designed for users who require high -performance disaster recovery, so centers around faster recovery times, lower data loss risks and preal located capacity.
Works a lot as a Cross-Region Disaster Recovery Solution, repeats disaster recovery plus cloud PC disk snapshots in an alternative region.
Microsoft adds an even more powerful opportunity to restore disasters
“Once enabled, users will be pointed to a temporary cloud -PC. During a power outage, the user has access to their temporary cloud PC with all installed applications and settings based on the latest restore point, “noted Windows 365 Cross-Region Disaster Recovery (CRDR), Head Product Manager Doug Coombs.
However, the temporary Sky -PC serves only to give the affected users access to previously restored files and does not function as a replacement for their primary system, which means that “applications, data or other information” will not be preserved – instead users are encouraged to store work to OneDrive or SharePoint.
In a practical guide, Coombs users can choose between any geography or region that Windows 365 is available to their alternative region, allowing administrators to consider other factors such as data sovereignty.
“Windows 365 Disaster Recovery Plus provides improved disaster recovery features, such as a shorter recovery time target (RTO), PrEALLOCATED capacity and a shorter recovery point target (RPO) compared to Windows 365 Cross-Region Disaster Recovery,” he added.
Cloud -PC rents with up to 50,000 cloud -PCs in a region can expect improvement within four hours of CRDR compared to less than 30 minutes for DRP.
Windows 365 Disaster Recovery Plus is available in preview as only a licensed addition to Windows 365 Enterprise Edition, but it will generally be available in the spring.
