- Another improvement is spotted to telephone link
- It will soon be easier to remove handsets
- The app is regularly updated in recent months
The Telephone Link app, which is part of Windows, allows you to sync data, texts and calls between the desktop operating system and a mobile device -and a new upgrade to the tool Testes that make it easier to switch between handset in telephone link.
Per. Tipster @phantomofearth (via Windows latest) some users now have the opportunity to remove a connected iPhone or Android phone from phone link right from Bluetooth & Devices> Mobile Devices Page in Windows settings.
Currently, go to your Microsoft account settings online to manage this – so it potentially saves a lot to click around and log in. Previously, an Unlink button was available in the telephone link app itself, but it was removed a while ago.
An obvious reason why you want to do this is when you upgrade your phone, and all that makes shift phones more straightforward is welcome – what about all the other data transfer jobs involved.
Regular upgrades

The options you get via telephone link depends on the handset you are using. Both iPhones and Android phones are able to connect to telephone links, although you get most features with the best Samsung Galaxy phones.
Another feature that is currently in testing is an iPhone -info panel that matches it to Android devices that can be seen right in the start menu. All this follows from regular upgrades to telephone links that we have seen in the last year or so.
Completely how long it will take for the improved Unlinking feature to roll out to everyone is still to see – and it can get one or two other adjustments along the way – but it shouldn’t be too long before it shows up in Windows.
Of course, you get a wealth of synchronization and integration features if you have an iPhone and a Mac working together, which is the high bar Microsoft is working on with telephone link on Windows – with multiple upgrades that are likely to be on the way.
