- Microsoft -Teams working on adding noise oppression to call
- Have to cut background noise as traffic or write
- All Microsoft -Teams -Users need to take advantage of the launch
One of the most painful questions when calling into a Microsoft team call could see being a saga of the past thanks to a new update.
The video conferencing platform has revealed that it is working to add noise oppression to participants calling in for a call.
Once included, this should spell a cessation of potentially earbeating call interruptions, or the participants being deafened by background noise from another person on the call.
Microsoft Team’s noise oppression
Microsoft says as well as improving the user experience for everyone on a call, the new addition will also “improve clarity and reduce distraction for all meeting participants”.
In a Microsoft 365 shuttle post, it noted that the feature will automatically filter background noise (such as traffic, typing) to users who sign up for meetings by phone (PSTN).
The function is listed as being “under development” for the time being with an expected roll -out start date in September 2025.
When it is launched, Microsoft says it will be available to users around the world using teams on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS – as well as teams and surface devices and hold on the web.
The launch is the latest in a number of recent improvements to Microsoft Teams, which has been announced by the company as it seems to improve the experience for users.
This includes a fine tuning that allows more people to check slides presented at a meeting or call.
Microsoft says the addition will mean that presenters are able to maintain “a smooth stream during meetings or webinars” – hopefully the end of manual slides means – and hopefully the phrase “next slide please”.
It was also recently launched by real -time text (RTT) capabilities, allowing participants to write a message while someone else’s speech is transcribed, giving users who prefer to write to speak another way to make sure their voices come out there.
