Islamabad:
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that new passports are introduced to limit begging and illegal immigration, and that a strict action was taken against organized beggar.
Naqvi met with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Bin Saeed Ahmed al-Malki at the Saudi Embassy and discussed key issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in economic, social and security sectors.
Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s decision to tackle transnational crimes and emphasized the country’s great interest in working closely with Saudi Arabia to fight drug trafficking and human smuggling.
The Minister noted that new passports were introduced to limit begging and illegal immigration and that a strict action was taken against organized begged network.
Naqvi recognized the visa -free post for Saudi citizens in Pakistan as a reflection of the strong ties between the two nations.
He praised Saudi Arabia’s participation in the recent Pak-Gulf Cooperation Council Anti-Narcotics Conference.
Naqvi expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia and the ambassador for their consistent support for Pakistan, especially in financial assistance and social development.
He expressed especially appreciation of the Saudi government’s instrumental role in ensuring the release and the secure return of five Pakistani family members incorrectly involved in a drug case.
Al-Malki repeated Saudi Arabia’s deeply rooted ties with Pakistan and confirmed Saudi Arabia’s desire to further improve cooperation across all sectors. With input from app
