Mizuno USA Files New Report With Maine Attorney General
In the report it detailed a cyberattack that happened late 2024
Cyber criminal exfiltered sensitive data for several months
Mizuno USA has confirmed to suffer a cyber attack where it lost sensitive customer data.
The US sports equipment manufacturer submitted a new report to the Maine Office of the Attorney General, where it shared a data violation letter sent to affected customers.
In the announcement, Mizuno USA said it discovered suspicious activity on its network on November 6, 2024, causing it to start an in -depth study. “The study provided that certain systems within the network were accessed by an unknown individual, and files were copied without permission at regular intervals between August 21, 2024 and 29 October 2024,” the violation message said.

While he did not say exactly how many people were affected by the attack, Mizuno shared the type of information stolen: people’s names, social security number, financial account information, driving license information and passport numbers.
In response, Mizuno USA will offer one year’s value of free credit monitoring and identity protection services to affected individuals and encouraged them to keep an eye on their financial accounts for signs of fraud.
The company did not say who they miscreants were but Bleeping computer Determined the Bianlian threat actor assumed responsibility for the attack in November 2024.
“The Bianlian Ransomware Group claims to have violated the United States branch of Mizuno,” said an X -post of Hackmanac at the time. “Allegedly includes ex -filtered data financial data, HR items, contracts and confidential agreements, partner and supplier information, client and customer data, drawings, business secrets and patents, as well as mailboxes and internal and external e -mail correspondence.”
Mizuno USA is the US subsidiary of Mizuno Corporation, a Japanese sports equipment and clothing company. It specializes in high performance gears for sports such as baseball, golf, running, volleyball and softball. Last year, Mizuno Corporation reported global revenue of approx. 1.5 billion dollars, with Mizuno US contributing approx. 224 million dollars.
