The Yankee Captain understands the responsibility he has been privileged to have, and he made sure to point out all those in the armed forces that allow him to do so.
“To hear that praise from you, hear praise from trouty, it’s something special,” Judge of Derosa said during a press conference at Yankee Stadium. “Getting the chance to represent our country – I said it earlier this morning – just thinking about all the brave men and women who have fought for this country and put their lives for us to get a chance to go out here, especially me, go out here and play a game. It’s a pretty humble experience.
“Glad to represent the US and glad to be your captain.”
What are the 10 largest contracts in the MLB story?
Judge was a vocals about his desire to play for Team USA one day, but when the tournament came around in 2023, it was a tough time when he was searching for a free agent contract. Given what happened to the New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz during a party with Team Puerto Rico – he tore his Achilles in a freak accident – the judge did not risk any harm.
Judge received an extension of nine years, $ 360 million with Yankees, and the captain of the franchise could start. But with the New Deal, Judge thought it smart to sit out.

But the judge who won his second MVP in the last season knew that the tournament would come around again in 2026. And Derose immediately thought of a judge when he was appointed manager.
“I wanted him to be a captain,” Derosa told journalists. “I felt he deserves it. I saw Mike trout go out toward Japan with the flag; I want [Judge] to be that guy. “
Yankees -Manager Aaron Boone added: “In many ways he is definitely one of the baseball’s face. Such a magnetic personality that people draw to people around the game love and respect. I think he will be amazing.”

While the judge is on board as Team US Captain, the surrounding list will not end until next year. By 2023 it came out in early February.
However, the referee’s presence should lead other great players from the United States to express their desire to be considered by Derosa to make the team.
