Los Angeles Dodgers got their 13th consecutive playoffs in the last home game of the last season that was home franchisian legend Clayton Kershaw’s career.

Dodgers beat San Francisco Giants 6-3 Friday night at Dodger Stadium to tie New York Yankees (1995-2007) to the second-longest playoff in the Major League History.

Only Atlanta Braves’ line of 14 straight appearances (1991-2005) is longer.

“Completely implementation,” said manager Dave Roberts. “It never gets old. You never take it for granted. It takes a lot of hard work to get there.”

Kershaw had a no decision in the victory as he beat 4.1 laps and gave up two earned races on four hits and four walks while struck out six fighters. The 37-year-old announced on Thursday that he would retire at the end of the season.

“I wanted to make sure we lifted a glass to Clayton on this day, his career and kind of recognize what we have achieved to get to the post season,” Roberts said. “It’s a step. The next step is to win this department so we still got some work to do. Once we have done it, we can focus on the autumn period.”

Kershaw will start a more regular season start when the team plays Seattle Mariners next week, but there is no guarantee that the future Hall of Famer will be a start in the playoffs.

With Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell in Dodgers’ Vaunted Rotation, Kershaw knows that his opportunity to beat in the post -season may be limited.

“I’m excited about what the next five or six weeks could look like,” Kershaw said. “Our team is honestly stacked with pitching right now. I can do math.

“We’ll try to win the World Series. I’m ready and willing to do what I can to help.”

While Dodgers got a Playoff -Kaj, they have not yet clung the National League West.

Dodgers leads second place San Diego Padres with four matches in the NL West Race, and their magic number is four to win the division. Los Angeles is trying to win his 12th division title in the last 13 years and needs another three wins to reach 90 for the 12th consecutive year.

Dodgers (87-67) takes Giants (76-78) in the second game in their three-game series on Saturday at. 21.10 ET.
