Seattle Mariners Pitcher Tayler Sauckedo revealed that he and his girlfriend received death threats on social media after his bad excursion in the team’s 11-2 loss to Philadelphia Phillies in Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday.

Saucedo, 32, went into the bottom of the seventh round with the marines drawing 3-2. He only recorded one out and allowed five races on four hits, a trip and a hit dough. When he was removed, Phillies had expanded their lead to 8-2.

After the game, Sautero shared a weak Instagram message he received from a Mariners fan.

” @saucey07 I hope your f —— Head is blown up that goes into Philly, you ugly autistic piece S —,” wrote Instagram user @gilbertgoonsquad in a message Sauxedo re-entered to his Instagram stories.

“Your C — wife/gf who also died would be great too.”

Sauckedo also went to X to condemn the threats.

“I understand that I want me to go after today and this year as a whole. No one is more disappointed at how this year has gone for me than myself. Believe me, I will win as much as you all, whether I’m here or not,” Sauxedo wrote.

“But messaging me this bull – t and my boyfriend and sending these things are beyond baseball. It’s insane, how comfortable people send these things to not only me but my partner. Tell me that I suck everything you want, that’s fine, but at some point we have to get a grip.”

Saucedo has fought this season and posted a 5.14 era for seven rounds. Last year he had a 3.49 era across 38 2/3 laps.

His girlfriend, Kelsie Scott, published his own message on Instagram to support Sauckedo.

“Friendly reminder that athletes are humans and have real mental health. Absolutely disgusting what so many of you are doing well to say when you’ve never lived under the daily pressure they do. This is never ok under any circumstances and I hope these words never find anyone who can’t handle them. I love you @saucey07,” SCott wrote.

Scott added that she and Sauckedo received even more graphic messages than the one he sent. She said harassment is “probably” from gamblers.

“We got messages far more graphics than the one he shared, which I just don’t find it appropriate to share here. Many people have mentioned that these people are probably gamblers and you’re 100% correct,” Scott wrote.

“Each disgusting message contained reasoning for losing money based on the game. All I can say is – maybe stop playing money you don’t have to lose.”

Scott continued to emphasize that words from fans can cause real damage.

“Hate has never been tolerated here in any capacity, and that’s for sure, as hell will not be directed at someone I love,” she said.
