The New York Mets star first Baseman Pete Alonso wants to introduce a rule that would bring matches in the Major League baseball.
Alonso, 30, said he doesn’t think players should be pushed out to charge the haug and matches.
“If there is a rule I could change, I don’t think people should be thrown out after charging the haug and the matches. I think it should be hockey style,” Alonso said at a press conference on Tuesday.

The five-time All-Star emphasized that the match should be a player versus a player to avoid injury as much as possible. Alonso said when matches happen and the whole two teams are out on the field in a moshpit, that’s when players can get hurt.
Alonso also suggested that for a player who was unwilling to fight if he was accused by an opponent’s player, he could give and effectively opt out.
“I think there’s a rule if you want to go out and charge the haug, then you should be able to do so, but if the jug or hitter or the one who is charged, and if they don’t want to fight, they take a knee and they don’t have to fight,” Alonso said.
National League wins MLB All-Star Game in historical way

“If someone goes out and takes a knee, it’s like anything, then you both go in your separate path, that’s what I would change about the game.”
However, in Alonsos suggested rule, if a player who definitely loses the match, however, he is pushed out of the game while the winner will be in the game.
In the NHL, regardless of who wins the match, both players receive a five -minute penalty for match.

In Alonso’s scenario, a player could win a match against a jug after being hit by a pitch and then go to the first base and remain in the game while pitcher, after losing the match, would leave the game.
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has made a lot of rule changes during his term of office, but no one as drastic as Alonso’s proposed rule.
Alonso has been fantastic this season for Mets as he is in the middle of a career year. The Star House has a .280 batting average with 21 home runs and 77 RBI, while leading the National League with 26 doubles.
