MLB News: Mr. Met Hilarious Falls of Stage during the Lumineers concert

NEWYou can now listen to Pakinomist articles!

Mr. Met should have stayed on the plate and not taken -one go.

In one of the most incredibly funny, as well as absurd, videos we’ve seen in a very long time, Friday night, the beloved New York Mets mask went literally from the stage during the Lumineers concert at Citi Field.

Mr. Met fell from the stage in front of everyone!

“Rough Night for Mr. Met at the Lumineers concert,” @jessefinver wrote his tweeted video, which now has over 1.5 million views.

I want to say that, Jesse!

For a mets -franchise that has been down to their luck for what seems to be forever now, this may be their Curse of bambino moment. I’m not laughing. Not only did Mr. Met not to catch a tambourine thrown at him by Lumineers singer Wesley Schultz, but then continue to go as if everything is okay before he falls off the stage in the crowd below? What?!

The alternative angle is even more funny, as Mr. Met seems to be taken off Stranger Things‘Upside dimension.

“Anddd, he’s gone.”

Seriously, take a moment and just imagine the number of METS fans waking up this morning after watching their team defeat Kansas City Royals 8-3 on the road and think everything is in order.

Only to realize that their mascot has now become the baseball version of Mark Sanchez’s “Butt Fumble.”

Social media responded accordingly

“That’s it! Watch Mets go on an insanely historic breakdown for the rest of the season,” wrote X-user ‘Relaxed Sports Fan’, which is clearly not relaxed and perfectly summarizes Met’s hopeless fanbase in the last decade-plus.

Another fan sent an old New York Post Back Cover from years ago that ironically had the headline: “Why does God hate Mets?” Over a photo of mascot.

“Was he wasted?” Brad on x asked.

Hi, not a bad question. Although someone else mentioned that we now know why maskotes and Disney characters always have a trades that go around with them – things like this don’t happen!

You can’t make it up!

So far, there has been no word about Mr. Met on the way to IL, but we’ll keep you updated.

Godspeed, mets fans.
