Shohei Ohtani is becoming a father.
Los Angeles Dodgers’ two -way superstar is away from the team until the birth of the two -way superstar’s first child Friday.

Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani was with his wife and went on MLB’s paternity list before Dodgers’ series opener Friday night against Texas Rangers.
“He and Mamiko expect at some point. That’s all I know,” Roberts said. “I don’t know when he will come back and I don’t know when to get the baby, but of course they are in anticipation.”

Ohtani, 30, posted on his Instagram Account at the end of December that he and his 28-year-old wife, a former professional basketball player from his native Japan, expected a baby in 2025.
“Can’t wait for the little rookie to join our family soon!” Said Posten December 28, which included a photo showing the couple’s beloved dog, Decoy, as well as a pink Rubfled Onesie along with Babyko and a sonogram covered in a baby -emoji.

Ohtani can miss up to three games while on paternity leave. Dodgers have a three-game series in Texas before an off-day Monday, and then plays at Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.
