New York Yanke’s starter jug Carlos Rodon sported a beard under the team’s 4-2 win over Milwaukee Brewers in the team’s season opener on Thursday.
The new look drew mixed reactions online after the organization made drastic changes to one of its long -standing policies last month. Rodon, 32, had a beard with the San Francisco giants and Chicago White Sox before signing with Yankees and shaving it off.
When Yankee’s scraped their facial hair policy in spring training, players were allowed to grow “well-groomed” beards. With the rule away, Rodon had with other Yanke’s beard on opening day.

However, fans had different opinions to see Yankees’ players with a beard for the first time in a long time.
“That beard looks good at Carlos Rodon,” sent a user to X.
Other fans were not so kind to Yankees’ starting pot. “Carlos Rodon looks awful – beard that sticks out – in his pinstripes before the Yankee Stadium – the quantity. Very disrespectful,” a fan sent to X.
“Not to be an old head because I didn’t think I would be so indifferent to it, but watching Carlos Rodon on the haug in Pinstripes with a beard makes me crazy,” is another fan that was sent to social media.
Rodon won the victory as he set 5.1 laps and gave up only one race on four hits and two walks while knocking out seven brewery mothers.

Some fans tied Rodon’s strong performance with his beard.
“Very excited for a whole year of bearded Carlos Rodon with this Gnarly shooter and new shift,” sent a user to X.
“Carlos Rodon may be that benefits the most of Yankees’ new beard policy,” another fan released on social media.
In the two seasons before Rodon signed with Yankees, he made the All-Star team both years and struck to a 2.63 over 310.2 laps with Giants and White Sox. His first two years of Yankees without a beard were not so productive for Rodon. His era in his Yankees career is 4.67 and he has not been Ace Pitcher Yankees hoped they signed.

But with a beard in 2025, Rodon is starting a strong start. Rodon was not the only player who had a beard when left Fielder Jasson Dominguez, Reliever Mark Leiter Jr. And closer Devin Williams also had a beard.
