MLB star maintains strange damage during spring training games

A knee injury holds St. Louis Cardinal’s right Fielder Jordan Walker out of the base ball diamond for the next several days.

The 22-year-old seemed to maintain the injury after he stepped on a sprinkler head when he chased a fluff ball during a spring training game on Tuesday.

The Cardinals defeated Washington Nationals in Tuesday’s exhibition in Palm Beach, Florida.

An MRI later confirmed Walker avoided any structural damage to his knee. However, there were some signs of irritation.

Cardinals Manager Oliver Marmol said the team would take a cautious approach to Walker’s knees over the next week.

“That’s what it is,” Marmol told journalists on Wednesday. “We let it relax for a week and then we hit that baby back. And we still have time to see him in lots of [spring training] game. “

Walker is expected to be ready for opening day next month. Walker made some changes to his turn this season and is expected to start in the right field when the regular season begins.

Walker has 21 career home runs and 71 RBIs in 168 matches. The right-handed dough also has a .255 career-batting average.

The Cardinals ended last season with a record of 83-79, but did not go to the playoffs.

Marmol monitored a 12-match improvement from the 2023 season. Louis has not qualified for the MLB post season since the franchise won the 2022 NL Central Division title.
