With the count 2-2, Orioles starter Charlie Morton threw a degradation ball down and into the left side. Gimenez tried to check his swing, but a little said he was going around and beating out.

Giménez then moved to the bench that he was grazed off the course and should be awarded the first base. When Giménez began discussing the potential hit of pitch with Little, Schneider came up from Dugout to take part in the conversation that Apple TV+ microphones picked up.
“He says the ball hit him,” Little Scheider said. “But we have a swing so we have a dead ball.”
“How f — should you call it?” Said Schneider in disbelief at Little’s call to the swing.

Giménez ended up striking out, and Blue Jay’s didn’t score at the bottom of the round. Despite the conversation between Schneider and Little, Blue Jay’s manager was not pushed out.
Despite the scoreless first inning, Blue Jay’s bats became alive, and the rough Morton with seven hits and four races over 3⅓ laps. Blue Jays ‘victory was their first of the season, and Orioles’ loss was their first.
