You never know what you want to see when you see a ball game.
Under Los Angeles Dodgers’ 6-3 win over Chicago Cubs in Tokyo Dome Wednesday, ex-NFL quarterback Rodney Peete was in the middle of the action.
Cubs’ Outfielder Ian Happ battled during the sixth lap, and Dodgers were up 6-3 at that time.

Happing hit a high pop-up that drifted from bad territory into the stands. Dodgers’ third Baseman Max Muncy reached over the net to try to get out.
Peete, who happened to be sitting in the stands, however, reached out with his glove and snuggled the ball. Muncy held up glove and checked it before he realized he didn’t have the ball and shook his head in frustration.
After Pete caught the bad ball, he pulled his glove hand behind his back and looked at randomly at Muncy.
“Muncy had no chance!” Peete sent to x with a crying laughter emoji.

In a separate post on X, Peete said he was in Japan because he is a Dodgers fan and his son is a clubhouse for Dodgers.
The 15-year-old NFL veteran said that because the net is not high on the bad lines, gloves and helmets are provided to fans.
Peete gave Happ an extra life with his catch in the stands, but Happ ended up striking out anyway.

Peete was a two-sports star on USC as a quarterback and an infielder. Pete was elected in the MLB draft four times (1984, 1988, 1989, 1990) but chose football.
Peete, 59, played for six teams in the NFL during his 15-year career: Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, then-Washington Redskins and then Oakland Raiders.
Dodgers and Cubs played two matches in Japan in the Tokyo series to start the 2025 mlb season. Dodgers won both games to begin their World Series title defense.
