Dijak can be riddle’s toughest challenge yet. He’s not yet attached or submitted since he debuted in MLW last year. He lost against Riddle on MLW’s One Shot in December via incompatibility. He made quick friends with manager Saint Laurent and found a new ally in Bishop Dyer when he debuted at Battle Riot last month.

Riddle told Pakinomist Digital that he is aware of the challenges he faces, but that is part of the burden of being the top guy of the business.

“At the end of the day it is a bit like motivation. Sometimes when you are just one for one with someone, you drop sort of your guard,” said Riddle. “Unfortunately for me it’s never a one-to-one situation even when it should be

“I think I’m ready. After winning Battle Riot and having 39 other competitors, including (Rob van Dam) there and still going away … MLW World Heavyweight Champion, I’m confident but not too confident that I know what to do to get the job done.”

Riddle goes into the fight with some busted ribs, he has inflicted a steel stool attack from Dijak. Riddle still promised to defend the title.

“The ribs are a little beaten up,” Riddle said. “But it will certainly happen in this work line. I think the important part is that Dijak is the one responsible for harming my ribs. He will probably try to target them in this world’s title match in Chicago.

“I’m looking for it, but at the same time I’ve made some sit-ups. I’ve been trying to keep abs close.”

Austin Aries is expected to be at the request of the event. He returned to MLW on the microphone at Battle Riot. He shared his thoughts on the fight with Pakinomist Digital.

“I know that as good as someone to win the championship is difficult, but keeping the championship is even more difficult, because now you are a distinctive man, everyone is coming for you, everyone is shooting to you,” Aries said. “And on top of that you are asked to do media, you are asked to be the face of the business. It is a heavy burden to carry, and the Riddle has carried for a while.

“If there is anyone who wants to take the championship out of them and if it will happen at any time, Chicago could come up here on May 10 very well be that day.”
