Islamabad:
Legislators from both opposition and state boxes called on Wednesday for the establishment of special agricultural zones, it facilitates centers nationwide, increased farmer’s support and funding for churches and temples to promote economic growth and social integration.
Resumption of the general budget debate on the fifth day in the National Assembly emphasized Dr. Zulficar Ali Bhatti from PML-N The need to develop rural areas and strengthen the agricultural sector. He suggested the creation of special agricultural zones nationwide, equipped with all the necessary facilities to improve agricultural productivity.
He also agreed to give farmers incentives. In addition, he called for the establishment of IT-relief centers in the rural areas and the implementation of qualification development programs for young people, especially in underprivileged areas, to promote self-sufficiency.
Awais Haider Jhakar from Sunni Intehad Council (SIC) highlighted the challenges faced by farmers and criticized government policies that have contributed to a decline in agricultural production.
Abdul Ghafoor Haideri of Jamat Disadvantaged disadvantage (FAZL) called on Deputy speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah to make a decision called for strict punishment for those involved in attempts to abduct Maulana Fazl Ur Rehman’s son and demanded their immediate arrest.
Zulfiqar Ali Behan of Pakistan People’s Party called for the introduction of an agricultural emergency in the country and the removal of taxes on fertilizers to increase agricultural production. He also called for the establishment of a university in Naushahro Feroze.
Chaudhry Mubeen Arif Jatt from SIC demanded immediate withdrawal of the proposed 18 percent general VAT (GST) on solar panels. He also highlighted the difficulties facing farmers, noting that their products are sold at prices lower than their production costs.
Chaudhry Riaz UL HAQ from PML-N demanded a review of the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) excessive powers and emphasized the need to lower fertilizer prices.
Ejaz Hussain Jakhrani from PPP said the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) provides excellent services in liver transplantation. He also said that the SUKKUR-Hyderabad highway is an important need for the population and urged the authorities to be aware of the project.
MNA Sohail Sultan said it is the government’s duty to give relief to the people.
Syed Shah Ahad Ali Shah from Sic emphasized the importance of offering targeted incentives to strengthen the country’s youth.
When discussing agriculture, MNA emphasized Nasir Iqbal the importance of the sector and called on the government to either raise crop prices or reduce production costs.
