Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with us Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker to discuss key issues, including counter -terrorism and bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on improving cooperation between Pakistan and the United States, especially in areas of mutual interest.
Naqvi also reflected on his recent visit to the United States, holding positive discussions with members of the US Congress. He emphasized that these meetings focused on developing a common strategy against terrorism and strengthening bilateral relations.
“Terrorism is a global challenge and the international community has to work together to fight it,” Naqvi said.
He highlighted the long ties of the decades between Pakistan and the United States and noted that US support has played an important role in increasing the capacity of Pakistan’s law enforcement authorities.
Naqvi expressed hope that relations between Pakistan and the United States would be further strengthened under President Donald Trump’s tenure.
The Minister of the Interior also invited Baker to participate in Islamabad’s upcoming Spring Festival celebration.
Last month, Naqvi visited an official visit to the United States and participated in the prestigious Lincoln Liberty Ball dinner in Washington and received a warm welcome from US officials and dignitaries.
During the event, Naqvi met with prominent figures, including Senator Tommy Tuberville, congressman Ken Calvert, former British Prime Minister Liz Truss and Mississippi -Governor Philip Bryant. Discussions focused on mutual interests and ways to strengthen the bilateral connections.
The minister also expanded congratulations to US senators and congressmen with Donald Trump’s assumption of the presidency. “This is a historic day for America,” Naqvi noted, expressing confidence in the Trump administration’s potential to open a new chapter in the US-Pakistan relationship.
Naqvi noticed the enthusiasm of the American public during the festivities and called it a testimony to their support for President Trump.
He expressed his best wishes for the American people and confirmed Pakistan’s obligation to promote cooperation.
