More 9 May accused of meeting military litigation

Rawalpindi:

Judge Syed Amjad Ali Shah from Rawalpindi’s Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) holds a decisive consultation of fourteen May 9th rebellion cases tomorrow (Saturday).

The hearing comes in the wake of the Supreme Court Wednesday order, which maintained military court trials on 105 May 9 May. SC has already ordered all ATCs that declare attempts on May 9, accused of concluding their procedure within four months.

Another 25 accused persons are expected to be nominated for trial in military courts. A constitutional petition seeking their transfer to the military could be administered at any time. The courts have been placed on duty in anticipation of this.

In all May 9 -SAGE in the Rawal Pindi division -except those involving PTI founder Imran Khan and Vice President Shah Mahmood Qureshi -are all accused at the moment out of bail.

A total of 14 fours were registered by various police stations in the division of May 9 events, but charging sheets were submitted after a year and a half.

To date, the Load Select for the GHQ -attack case even remains incomplete. Experiments have begun based on incomplete charging sheets. So far, 73 hearings have taken place, 3 judges have been replaced by ATC, and prison trials have been held 15 times.

In the case filed at the Railway Police Station regarding attacks and vandalism at Tarnol Railway Station, 20 PTI employees have been convicted after pleading guilty. They received six months of prison conditions and fines on RS75,000 each.

The process of distributing charging sheets continues in 12 other cases. A formal prison attempt is only underway in the GHQ attack case, where statements have been registered about 25 out of 119 witnesses.

However, the defense has not yet crossed any witnesses. Two central witnesses in this case-promote Mujtaba al-Hasan and sub-inspector Riaz-Has did not appear in the last three months. Since February 25, the GHQ case trial has been quiet.

Eight suspects in the GHQ Gate 1 attack, Metro Bus Station -Brand Foundation and attacks on an intelligence agency’s office have already been tried in military courts. Of these, six were sentenced to two, eight and ten years in prison, while two were released after earning a year each.

The beliefs have been contested in the Rawal Pindi bench from Lahore High Court (LHC), but these constitutional petitions are not yet planned for consultation.

These petitions filed more than a year back that sought the military trial records, copies of the tax sheets, penalties forms and summaries of evidence.

Meanwhile, Lahore police have requested an ATC to allow them to conduct a polygraphic and photographic test by founder Imran Khan in connection with cases on May 9.

In this regard, the prosecution has submitted an application to ATC in which it is necessary to conduct the test and other investigations.

Contrary to the application in his preliminary arguments, the PTI founder’s lawyer’s lawyer Salman Safdar said that archiving such an application after two years is an act of bad faith. The court has postponed the case until May 14.

A Lahore High Court division bench will hear on May 15, eight eight after arrest warrant filed by Imran Khan in various cases 9 May. (With input from our correspondents in Lahore)
