National Emergency’s Operation Center (NEOC), a unit from National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has issued several impact -based weather warnings such as the country harnesses for widespread rain, strong wind and thunderstorms from June 29 to July 5.
Neoc warned that heavy rainfall could trigger floods in cities, flash floods and landslides in several regions, including Kashmir, northeastern Punjab, Potohar region, Islamabad and Upper and Central Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
“Urban flood is probably in low-lying areas of Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Kohat, Rawalpindi and Islamabad-Især from 21:00 to 16:00 on June 29,” said the alarm.

Rain-related emergencies can also emerge in the districts of Jhelum, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore and Faisalabad, while considerable rainfall in the Sargodha division can lead to local flooding.
In the northern areas, including Hazara and Malakand divisions in KP, and Jhelum and Poonch -Dalene in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, flash floods and landslides are possible. Neoc warned of low-level flooding in the river Kabul at Nowshera as well as medium-sized currents in the Swat River.
Similar risks were identified in side elves and ice streams in Chitral and Hunza, including the rivers Khunjerab, Ghujerab and Braldu. “Transport in hilly and mountainous areas could be disturbed together with communication and electricity services,” the statement warned.

It is also expected heavy for very heavy rain for southern Sindh, especially Hyderabad, Thatatta, Badin and Karachi, where the risk of urban floods is expected to rise sharply from July 2nd and in the future.
NDMA has called on all provincial and district administrations to remain in high attention, activate contingency plans and ensure that warnings are communicated in local languages.
“Citizens are encouraged to stay informed through official advisers, avoid traveling near rivers and ice streams and keeping emergencies ready,” it added. It also called on the public to download Pak NDMA Disaster Alert app for real-time updates.
