Mother saves child from moving trains in Hyderabad Station

A mother’s instinctive reaction saved his toddler from a counterbalo train at Hyderabad Railway Station, in a dramatic incident that has since become viral on social media.

The upside moment unfolded Friday night, when Shalimar Express, on the way from Karachi to Punjab, pulled into the platform.

The woman who traveled with her husband and children was about to board the train when her child suddenly slipped and fell on the tracks.

Without hesitation, she jumped down to save him. When she grabbed the baby, a near-travel train on the up-track left them with seconds to respond. Witnesses screamed in panic and encouraged the driver to use emergency brakes.

As he thought quickly, his mother pulled his child in a drainage ditch between the tracks, just as the train rumbled over them. The train driver managed to slow down, and the rail staff rushed to the stage. Moments later the couple were safely pulled out.

Railways later confirmed that both suffered only minor injuries and were led to a nearby hospital for medical care.
