A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a water tanker in Karachi’s Saadi city on Wednesday, the local police said, marking yet another deadly traffic event in the city.

The driver of the water tanker fled immediately after the accident. Police confirmed that an investigation is underway to find the suspect.
The accident adds to a growing list of deadly roadfishps in Karachi. Authorities say the city has seen a sharp increase in traffic deaths this year.
In addition, the driver of a runaway -dumper truck that avoided Karachi traffic police and threatened public security on Sharea Fais, also arrested and was arrested, earlier this week.
The incident, caught in a wide circulated video, showed a dumping hitting a political vehicle and fled from the stage.
The recordings triggered outrage online and got a city -wide crash on dumpers and heavy transport vehicles.
According to police, the arrested driver claimed he was being chased by motorcyclists and feared his vehicle would be burned – a response to the recent mob rape that was triggered by traffic accidents involving heavy vehicles.
According to a report from the Chhipa Welfare Association, over 260 people were killed in traffic accidents over Karachi in 2025, while almost 1,500 others have been injured.
Many of these accidents have involved cargo vehicles and water tankers, with several incidents that cause citizens to attack and burn heavy vehicles in retaliation.
Officials have called on the public to remain calm and allow law enforcement to carry out investigation.
