An improvised explosion device (IED) detonated in the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) MPA Dr. Hamid Ur Rehman in Bajaur’s KHAR area early Thursday morning, causing significant property damage, but no loss of life, police confirmed.
The unit, which was planted at the gate of the legislature’s home near District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, exploded around 10 p.m. 4.50.
According to officials, Dr. Rehman-AS also serves as chairman of the District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) from PK-19-not present at the time.
Police sources said the powerful explosion destroyed the gate of the house. A police team reached the place shortly after and collected forensic evidence. A formal study has been launched.
In a statement to the media, Dr. Rehman relief that no one was injured. “Thank God everyone is safe. Whoever protects is greater than those who want to hurt. May Allah keep us in safety against such events,” he said.
He promised to continue his public service. “God willing, I will continue to work for peace and development in my area.”
Yesterday, it was announced that security forces will perform intelligence -based operations (IBOs) to eliminate militant threats in Bajaur while aiming to minimize civilian disorders, officials said.
The collection was convened in response to a recent wave of terrorist attacks in Bajaur, which has demanded more civilian lives in the last two months.
Jirga brought together senior governments and police officers, military representatives, political figures from Bajaur, the oldest and religious scholars of the tribe to discuss the worsening security situation in the region.
Officials at the meeting promised that Bajaur would be cleared for militant conditions to make room for long -term stability, prosperity and sustainable development.
The security forces assured that future operations would be precise and intelligence -driven to avoid unnecessary difficulty for the local population.
