Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a nationwide warning warning that heavy to very heavy monsoon rain could lead to flash floods, landslides and the city’s flood in several regions in the coming days.
Flash flood is expected in local nullahs and streams of Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi, Marran, Islamabad/Rawal Pindi, Hill Torrents of Dg Khan, Nordøst Barkhan, Kohlu, Musa Khel, Musa Khel Bugti, Loralai, Bolan, Zhob, Ziarat, Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran and Lasbela.
PMD said that landslides and mud lids can cause road closures in vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat and Kashmir.
The city’s flood can occur in low -lying areas of Islamabad, Rawal Pindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera and Peshawar.
Strong monsoon streams along with a western wave are currently affecting most central and southern regions of the country.
Rain of wind and thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Punjab, Northeast and South Balochistan and Upper Sindh through today and Tuesday.
Isolated heavy rain is probably in Kashmir, Upper Punjab, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan.
Over the past 24 hours, precipitation was registered in parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Northeast and South Balochistan and Succur.
Heavier showers were observed in a caror (37 mm), KOT ADDU (31 mm), DG Khan (22 mm), Muzaffarabad (21 mm) and Lasbela (15 mm). Gilgit-Baltistan remained very hot, with Nokkundi registered the highest temperature at 47 ° C.
In southern Sindh, weak monsoon streams continue to affect the region with light rain and dripped expected in Karachi and nearby districts.
PMD predicts partially cloudy and humid conditions for Karachi today with chances of dripping in the morning and night Tuesday and Wednesday.
The maximum temperature of the city over the next three days is expected to vary between 33 ° C and 35 ° C.
Light showers are also probably today in Tharparkar, Badin, Thattta, Sujawal, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Jamshoro, Hyderabad and Tando Muhammad Khan, including areas within the Karachi division.
Isolated rainfall is expected on Tuesday in Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana and Dadu.
Elsewhere in Sindh, the weather is expected to remain partially cloudy, warm and humid.
